Solution
Rutherford's scattering experiment:
Rutherford carried out a gold foil experiment where he bombarded a very thin gold foil with positively charged alpha particles.
Based on the alpha particles scattering experiment, Rutherford has proposed the nuclear model of an atom.
During the experiment, Rutherford observed that many of the alpha particles passed through the foil undeflected, some got deflected and very few bounced back.
Thus, Rutherford concluded that the nucleus is dense and tiny, located at the center and has positive charge.
Hence, Rutherford's scattering experiment is related to the size of the nucleus.
