Given:
Length of the box = 25 cm
Width of the box = 15 cm
Height of the box = 10 cm

To wrap the gift, we need to cover all the 6 faces of the box. Thus, we have to find total surface area of the box.

Total surface area of the box is given by:

$T S A = 2 (l w + w h + l h)$
$= 2 \times (25 \times 15 + 15 \times 10 + 10 \times 25) = 2 \times (375 + 150 + 250) = 2 \times 775 = 1550 c m^{2}$

$∴$ Sam needs 1550 cm $^{2}$ of wrapping paper.
