The main difference between euchromatin and heterochromatin region lies in their DNA content, not in protein content; euchromatin is loosely packed DNA with higher gene concentration as compared to heterochromatin which is tightly packed and have less gene concentration, thus less DNA content. That’s why satellite of chromosome, being heterochromatic, contains less DNA.
