Let M.P. be Rs x, Discount $= 20 % o f R s x = R s \frac{x}{5}$
New M. P. after discount $= R s x - R s \frac{x}{5} = R s \frac{4 x}{5}$
Again discount $= 5 % o f R s \frac{4 x}{5} = R s \frac{x}{25}$
Changed M.P. after 2nd discount $= R s \frac{4 x}{5} - R s \frac{x}{25} = R s \frac{19 x}{25}$
Now, $2298.24 = \frac{19 x}{25} + 8 % o f \frac{19 x}{25}$
$\Rightarrow 2298.24 = \frac{19 x}{25} + \frac{8}{100} \times \frac{19 x}{25}$
$= \frac{19 x}{25} + \frac{38 x}{625} = \frac{475 x + 38 x}{625}$
$\Rightarrow x = \frac{2298.24 \times 625}{513}$
$\Rightarrow x = R s 2800$
$∴$ M.P. Rs 2800
