Let M.P. = Rs. X, Discount = $20 % o f x = R s . \frac{x}{5}$
New M.P. after discount = $R s . x - R s . \frac{x}{5} = R s . \frac{4 x}{5}$
Again discount = $5 %$ of $R s . \frac{4 x}{5} = R s . \frac{x}{25}$
Changed M.P. after 2nd discount = $R s . \frac{4 x}{5} - R s . \frac{x}{25} = R s . \frac{19 x}{25}$
Now, $2298.24 = R s . \frac{19 x}{25} + 8 % o f R s . \frac{19 x}{25}$
$2298.24 = R s . \frac{19 x}{25} + \frac{8}{100} \times \frac{19 x}{25}$
$= \frac{19 x}{25} + \frac{38 x}{625}$
$= \frac{475 x + 38 x}{625}$
$x = \frac{2298.24 \times 625)}{513}$
$x = R s . 2800$
M.P. = Rs. 2800
