Given, total money with Savitri = Rs.$x$

Money spent on grocery = Rs. 1000

Money spent on clothes = Rs. 500

Money spent on education = Rs. 400

Money received as gift = Rs. 200

Then, money left with her = Rs. ($x$ - 1000 - 500 - 400 + 200])

= Rs.( $x$ - 1900 + 200)

= Rs. ($x$ - 1700)
