Consider the quadratic equation, 6x2x1=0
On solving this, we get
6x23x+2x1=03x(2x1)+1(2x1)=0(3x+1)(2x1)=0 x=12,13

So, here we have seen that though the coefficients are integers, the roots need not be integers.
