Solution

The correct option is A True
In lanthanide elements, the electrons enter into 'f' subshell. Due to the poor screening effect of 'f' subshell, the increased nuclear charge cannot be compensated by the poor screening effect of the subshell. As a result, there is a marked increase in effective nuclear charge which results in steady decrease in atomic and ionic sizes among lanthanide elements.
