Self dispersal of seed is a mechanism of seed dispersal in which the plants disperse their seeds on their own i.e. by their self. For example, during explosion of pods containing seeds, they are dispersed on their own. The explosion depends only on the plant itself. Hence, explosion is an internal factor of seed dispersal.
Whereas factors like wind, water and animals are external or outside factors of seed dispersal which the plant has no control over.
