Seeta sells a dining set to Neeta for ₹6000 and gains 20%. For how much should she sells it to increase her profit by another5%?

Profilt on dinning set:

Assume thata is the original price.

Then,a+20%ofa=6000

On simplification, we get

a+a×20100=6000a+a5=6000

6a5=6000

a=5000.

Therefore, the original price, a=5000.

The required selling price=5000+(25%of5000)=5000+1250=6250.

Hence, Seeta has to sell the dining set for ₹6250 to gain a profit of an extra 5%
