The land with a lot of organic matter which is used to grow semiaquatic crops is known as paddy fields, for example- rice fields.

Azospirillum:

  1. In paddy fields, Azospirillum is the most frequent nitrogen fixer.
  2. It's a nitrogen-fixing bacteria that are microaerophilic, gram-negative, and non-fermentative.
  3. When a small amount of Azospirillum is added to the soil as a fertilizer, it quickly multiplies.
  4. It also helps plants grow.
