The correct option is B 38+14=58
For the first bar, there are 8 equal partitions out of which 3 are shaded. So, the fraction is 38.

For the second bar, there are 4 equal partitions out of which 1 is shaded. So, the fraction is 14.

Now, to add 38+14, the number of partitions in the second bar should also be 8.

Divide each partition further into 2 equal parts, so there will be a total of 8 equal partitions, and each partition will represent a fraction of 18 .

14=1×24×2=28

14 is represented as 28, when the number of partitions is 8.

38+14=38+28=58
