Copper is easily displaced:-

  1. If we follow the reactivity series, we can see that the metals that are on top that means they can ionize easily, but they cannot be easily displaced.
  2. On the other hand the metals which are at the bottom like copper, are difficult to ionize but can be displaced easily when we compare them to other elements.

Therefore, the ion which could be discharged most readily during electrolysis is Cu2+ions.
