Copper ions are discharged:-

  1. Copper is an active electrode.
  2. Thus it loses electrons and in this process it self ionizes in order to form Cu2+ions.

Therefore, Cu2+ions is discharged at the anode during the electrolysis of Copper sulphate solution using Copper electrodes as anode and cathode.
