Solution

The correct option is B Both i and iii are correct
The transport of food, mineral salts and water over long distances via vascular tissues (phloem and xylem) is termed as translocation. Xylem is responsible for translocation of mineral salts and water while phloem is responsible for translocation of food from leaves to other parts of the plants.

Loss of water by the aerial parts of the plant is termed as transpiration. It results in pulling up of water in ascending direction along with mineral ions from the roots through the xylem. This is called transpiration pull.
