Spirulina belongs to cyanobacterium that can be consumed by human beings and other animals. In dried form, it contains about 60% (51–71%) protein which includes all essential amino acids. Other nutrients that are found in rich quantities in Spirulina are vitamin b- thiamine and riboflavin, dietary minerals- iron and manganese. Methylophilus methylotrophus belongs to the group Methylotrophs which includes both Gram-negative and Gram-positive genera. Methylophilus methylotrophus, a bacterium can produce 25 tons of proteins.
