Step 2: Area of rectangle BEFC is:
= 4 × 3 sq cm = 12 sq. cm

Step 3: Area of polygon AEFD
= Area of ABCD + Area of BEFC
= 9 sq. cm + 12 sq. cm
= 21 sq. cm
