The correct option is D Jhum Cultivation
Forest dwellers or adivasis used the forests for cultivation of crops at some places. These forest dwellers took only what was necessary for sustenance. A common form of agriculture practiced by the adivasis was Shifting Cultivation or Jhum Cultivation. This involved burning of certain patches of forests to make way for cultivation. Although the adivasis cleared forests for cultivation, it was done in a more sustainable way, i.e, large areas of forest cover were still left untouched.
