Solution

The correct option is A Neopilina – Annelida and Echinodermata

Organisms which possess characters of two different groups are called connecting links.

Neopilina is considered a connecting link between Annelida and Mollusca. Annelidian characters are presence of spiral cleavage in eggs, presence of 5-6 pairs of ctenidia (feathery gills), 6 pairs of nephridia (for excretion), and two pairs of auricles. Molluscan characters are presence of shell, mantle and soft body. Hence option a is incorrect.

Euglena is a connecting link between plants and animals as it shows both autotrophic (preparing its own food when sunlight is available) and heterotrophic (act as predator) nutrition depending on the condition.

Figure : Euglena

Proterospongia is a connecting link between Protozoa and Porifera (sponges), because it has a protozoan type of colony and its individual cells are similar to the collar cell of sponges.

Peripatus is the connecting link between Annelida and Arthropoda as they have jointed appendages like arthropods and have segmented bodies like that of annelids.
