Solution

The correct option is C They wanted to polarise mass Indians against the British by teaching about their rich roots.
The nineteenth century saw events like the Partition of Bengal, Sepoy mutiny which instilled a sense of nationalism and to oppose the British. However, after the Partition of Bengal, radical members like Tilak were enraged against the moderate approach and began mobilising Indian citizens. Hence, they organised festivals celebrating Ganesha, Shivaji and Durga to mobilise people against the British. Tilak also published Kesari, a Marathi newspaper, and Maratha, an English newspaper, which instilled nationalistic fervour among the masses.
