The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh

The Hindu Mahasabha and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were the national cultural organisations which mobilised the Hindus. They wished to unite all Hindus and overcome the divisions of caste to reform their social life. They also gave the message that India was the land of the Hindus who were in a majority. Many Congressmen were impressed with the activities of these organisations.
