When larger unit(litre) is converted into smaller unit(milli litre), it is muliplied with a conversion factor. To convert litre into milli litre we have to mulitiply by 1000.
1 litre = 1 × 1000 = 1000 milli litre.
10 litre = 10 × 1000 = 10000 milli litre.
