Solution

The correct option is C (ii), (iii), (iv), (i)
India and Pakistan have been at loggerheads since the former's independence and the latter's creation. The first war was fought in 1947. Then in 1965 and another in 1971.

The 1965 war was settled by signing the Tashkent Agreement in 1966.

This was followed by the war in 1971, leading to the creation of Bangladesh. Tensions were eased with the signing of the Shimla Agreement in 1972.

SAARC was founded in 1985 as a cooperative body for South Asian countries. India and Pakistan are founding members of the organisation.

In 1999, the two nations signed the Lahore Declaration. Atal Bihari Vajpayee initiated the bus service from India to Lahore.
