Units like acres, hectares are the units used to measure the land all over the country. An acre is a piece of land that measures 64 metres long and 64 metres wide while a hectare is a land of 100 metres length and 100 metres width. Bigha is also another common unit used across the country, however, it differs from state to state. Like in Uttar Pradesh, 1bigha = ⅙ of a hectare. Inch is a really small unit (1 inch = 0.0254 metres) and cannot be used to measure large land areas.
