Solution

The correct option is C placenta
Placenta is a temporary organ that develops between the embryo (foetus) and the maternal body.

Apart from performing several functions, it also acts as an endocrine tissue and secretes hormones such as human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), human placental lactogen(hPL), estrogen and progesterone.

Ovaries produce and release two hormones—progesterone and estrogen.

The hormones produced by the pituitary are -TSH, ACTH, FSH, LH, prolactin (PRL), growth hormone (GH), melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH).

Option C is the correct answer.
