Step 1. Declaring the variable & finding the income of Shikha’s

Let x be the income of Shalu.

Shikha’s income is60% more than that of Shalu

Shika’s income =x+(60/100)x

=x+0.6x=1.6x

Step 2. Finding the differences between the income of the two.

Difference between their income =1.6xx

=0.6x

Step 3. Finding the percent by which Shalu’s income is less than that of Shikha.

(Differencebetweentheirincome/shikhasincome)×100=(0.6/1.6)×100=37.5%

Hence, Shalu’s income is less than Shikha’s by 37.5%.
