Shivam is a naughty boy. He wants to trouble his brother by mixing a lot of sugar in his glass of milk. He starts mixing sugar but at one point he realizes that he cannot mix it anymore as the sugar particles settle down at the bottom. This state is known as:
Saturated state
On adding solute (sugar) in the solvent(milk) it starts getting dissolved. But if we keep on dissolving that solute to the solvent then a time will come when no more sugar gets dissolved in the milk, rather the excess sugar will be settled at the bottom of the glass. This shows that it is the saturation point of the liquid and the state is called the saturation state. Saturation state is temperature dependent. Increasing the temperature of a solvent will result in an equivalent increase in the amount of solute it can dissolve. Hence increasing the saturation point.
