Explain the structure and function of spinal cord?

The spinal cord is a long tube-like structure beginning at the end of the brain stem and continues down to the bottom of the spine.
It is made up of nervous tissues and is a part of the Central nervous system.
It mainly has two functions-
Connects the peripheral nervous system (PNS) to the brain.
Nerve impulses that reach this spinal cord via sensory neurons and are then transmitted to the brain.
