The outer layer of the body in mammals is made up of hair.The outer layer of the body in reptiles is made up of scales.
Mammals have a 4-chambered heart. Most of the reptiles have a 3-chambered heart.
Mammals give birth to their young ones directly. (Exception: Platypus and echidna) Reptiles are egg-laying creatures mostly, except for some of the organisms which also gives birth to young ones.
Mammals have a high metabolic rate. Reptiles have a low metabolic rate.
Mammals are warm-blooded. They produce their own body heat. Reptiles are cold-blooded. Their body temperature depends on external environmental factors.
