Question

Short /Long answer type question.
Enlist the steps involved in C4 pathhway of fixation. Explain how plants overcome the photo-respiratory losses by this mechanism.

Solution

In this pathway, phospho-end pyruvate (PEP) combines with
atmosphere CO2 in the pressure of catalyst energy phosphoemol
pyruvate cortroylax (PEP case) to from oxaloectic acid
(OOA)
Rx2 occurs in the mesophyll cell og the plants OOA is then
consented into another 4 carbon compound malice acid
which is trans ported into bundle sheath cell from
mesophyll cells.
In the bundle sheath cells, the malice acid gets decarlroylased
and redoax CO2 and pyruric acid
CO2 Liberated is used for calcine cycle in the bundle sheath
cell and pyruric acid transported back to moesphyll cell
which is used for regenerative of PEP
Photorespiratow is regarded as a wasted prows.
In C4 plants phosphorylation does not occurs This is because they
have a mechanism that increase the concentration of
CO2 at the enzyme site
This results in increasing the interstellar concentration
of CO2 which ensures that the Ru Bisco functions
cartorylase and minimize the oxygenase activity
