As people age, some haversian canals may become blocked, what effect would this have on bone formation?

  • The osteoblast is a cell which secretes the substance of bone.
  • Osteocytes is a bone cell, formed when an osteoblast becomes embedded in the material it has secreted.
  • As people age, It would lead to the death of the osteocyte because the central canal is the main blood supply to the osteocytes of an osteon. Hence, As people age, some Haversian canals may become blocked effect would be the death of the osteocytes.
