We have advanced technology to the extent that it is now possible to study living organisms at the molecular level. It is possible to compare various organisms based on their similarly and dissimilarity at the molecular level. Life is a resultant of this chemical interaction and processes that occur at the molecular level. It also helps in understanding life at an evolutionary level because morphological characters are often difficult to correlate and make common links among organisms. Hence, there is greater emphasis on a molecular approach to understanding life today than before.
