Oxygenation of blood promotes the release of $C{O}_2$ from the blood in lungs. Explain.

The release of CO${}_2$ at the level of lungs can be explained by the Haldane effect. It describes hemoglobin’s ability to carry increased amounts of CO${}_2$ in the deoxygenated state as opposed to the oxygenated state. Oxygenation of blood in the lungs displaces carbon dioxide from hemoglobin which increases the removal of carbon dioxide.
