The wing of a bird is said to be homologous to the wing of a bat and analogous to the wing of an insect. Explain.

As a forelimb, wings of birds and bat are homologous. It is clear from their skeletal structures that all possess the same limb bones but are suitably modified for exploring different habitats. The limb bones are humerus, radius ulna, carpals, metacarpals etc.
While wings of birds and insects are very different in structure. They have common function i.e. help in flying which makes them an example of analogous organs.
