(a) Methanogens are the bacteria that produce methane gas and are found in swamps, lakes, paddy fields, as symbionts in the lumen of many herbivores. They are responsible for methane gas production in biogas plants.
(b) Halophiles are the salt lover archaebacteria which occurs in extremely saline conditions and can survive under high salt concentration. They have the enzymes which can operate at high pH.
(c) Thermoacidophiles are archaebacteria found in hot sulphur springs and highly acidic environment, they are temperature and acid-loving bacteria.
