Why does a nuclear envelope have pores while other membranes of a cell do not?

In a eukaryotic organism, the nucleus of a cell is enclosed in a nuclear membrane that separates it from ten rest of the contents of the cell. The nucleus of a cell usually has nuclear pores that facilitate the movement of molecules from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and vice versa.
