Solution

Vegetative propagation

  1. Vegetative propagation is a type of asexual reproduction in plants.
  2. It does not involve reproductive organs, seeds, spores or gametes.
  3. Multicellular structures arising from vegetative plant parts grow and become detached to produce new plant.
  4. Budding is a mode of asexual reproduction seen in Hydra.
  5. First a bud begins to form on the tubular parent body.
  6. The bud then develops a mouth and tentacles and detaches from its parent.
  7. The new Hydra is fully developed and will find a substrate for its attachment.
