(i) 1-phenylethanol from a suitable alkene.
(ii) cyclohexylmethanol using an alkyl halide by an SN2 reaction.
(iii) pentan-1-ol using a suitable alkyl halide.

(i) 1-phenylethanol can be prepared from ethylbenzene (styrene) by acid catalyzed hydration.
(ii) Cyclohexylmethanol is prepared using chloromethylcyclohexane by a SN2 reaction by treatment with NaOH. Hydroxide ion is the nucleophile.
(iii) Pentan-1-ol can be prepared by using 1-chloropentane by a SN2 reaction by treatment with NaOH. Hydroxide ion is the nucleophile.
