Since one kilowatt (kW) is equal to 1000 watts, one watt is equal to one Joule per second, and one hour is equal to 3600 seconds, we can easily work out that one kWh is equal to (3600×1000)=3,600,000 Joules, or 3.6 MJ (megaJoules). So, there is our answer, 1 kWh = 3.6 MJ.
