Show that in two triangles ΔABC and ΔDEF, whether in the following conditions they are similar or not. Why? (i) ∠A=30o,∠B=50o,∠C=80o (ii) ∠D=50o,∠E=30o,∠F=80o.

Solution
In ΔABC ∠A+∠B+∠C=30o+50o+80o=160o In Δ DEF ∠D+∠E+∠F=50o+30o+80o=160o We know that the sum of three angles of a triangle is 180o ∴ΔABC and Δ DEF are not possible. ∠A≠∠D,∠B≠∠E,∠C=∠F. ∵ All the corresponding angles are not equal, the triangles ABC and DEF are not similar.
