Question

show that the average ke of a gas molecule is directly proportional to the temperature of the gas. hence give the kinetic interpretation of the temperature.

Solution

Dear Student ,
The average kinetic energy of molecules depends on the temperature. As we are increasing the temperature, it provides sufficient energy to the molecules, which indeedenhances the dynamics of the molecules (as molecules will not eb at ground state after receiving energy). Therefore the average kinetic energy of molecules is directly proportional to the absolute temperature.
