Show that the points (2, 3, 5), (1, 2, 3) and (7, 0, 1) are collinear.

Let A(2, 3, 5), B(1, 2, 3) and C(7, 0, 1) be three given points.

Then

AB=(1+2)2+(23)2+(35)2

=9+1+4=14

BC=(71)2+(02)2+(13)2

=36+4+16=56=214

AC=(7+2)2+(03)2+(15)2

=81+9+36=126=314

Now AC=AB+BC

Thus, A, B and C are collinear points.
