Question

Show that there can be no net charge in a region in which the electric field is uniform at all points.

Open in App
Solution

Gauss Law states that Flux of Electric filed is equal to net charge enclosed in a region divided by ϵo. Now, since the electric field in a region is a constant, which means that the integral of E.ds is also a constant,
hence q is equal to zero.
