Solution

Photosynthesis:

  1. During photosynthesis, the green pigment called chlorophyll in the presence of solar energy produces the food (glucose) and oxygen from carbon dioxide and water.
  2. It mainly takes place in the leaves as the leaves are rich in chlorophyll which can trap the solar energy to perform photosynthesis.
  3. Carbon dioxide from the air enters the leaf through the stomata while water enters through the roots.
  4. Food is produced in the form of glucose while the oxygen is released out of the leaf through the stomata.
