Show the shape of the distance-time graph for the motion in the following cases: [2 marks]
1. A car moving with a constant speed.
2. A car parked on a side road.

Solution
(i) A car moving with a constant speed covers equal distances in equal intervals of time. It will be a uniform motion. Thus, in the distance-time graph, the distance travelled by the car will incease at a contant rate with time.
[1 mark]
(ii) A car parked on a road - In this condition, there will be no change in the distance with time. Hence, there won't be any motion.
Therefore the graph so obtained will be parallel to x-axis.
