Show with the help of a sketch that the plants are the ultimate source of food.

All the living being depends on plants whether directly or indirectly for food. Plants are called autotrophs as they can prepare food themselves through the process known as photosynthesis. The animals and other organisms take in ready-made food prepared by the plants. Hence, they are called heterotrophs. For example, the plant eating animals such as cow, goat, deer depend directly on plants but animals like lion, tiger depends indirectly on plants, that is they feed on plant eating animals such as cow, deer, goat. The following figure shows that plants are the ultimate source of food.
