Fraction of wall painted by Madhavi $=\frac{1}{3}$

Fractions with same denominators can be added by simply adding the numerators and writing the common denominator as it is.
Total painting done by both of them =$\frac{2}{3}+\frac{1}{3}=\frac{2+1}{3}=\frac{\text{/}3}{\text{/}3}=1$

Therefore, they painted the whole wall.
