Shweta observes lightning in her area. She hears thunder 5 seconds after observing lightning. How far is she from the place where lightning occurred, if the speed of sound is 330 ms -1?
How can this be solved? What is the formula?

the speed of light is 3*10^8 m/s.. the speed of sound is 330m/s.
It is less than speed of light. so first we can see light then after we can hear sound.

speed 3*10^8 m/s and time = 5 sec
therefore
distance = speed * time

distance= 3*10^8 * 5
distance = 15*10^8 m the place where lightning occurred
