Sieve tube cells are elongated cells aranged longitudinally and associated with the companion cells. They have peripheral cytoplasm and large vacuoles occupying the majority of the cellular space. They also have perforated end walls which allow the passage of food material through them. Thus these cells do not have any space for nucleus and are hence, said to be enucleated.
