Solution

The correct option is B False
Silver is not purified by a distillation process, but by cyanide process.
Cyanide Process: Silver and gold are extracted by cyanide process (Mac Arthur - Forrest process). After the preliminary crushing and concentration by froth floatation process, the ore (crushed auriferous rocks in the case of gold) is leached with dilute (0.4 - 7%) solution of sodium cyanide made alkaline by adding lime kept agitated by a current of air. Silver (or gold) pass into solution as argentocyanide (or aurocyanide):
Ag2S+4NaCN2Na[Ag(CN)2]+Na2S
Silver is obtained by reaction with Zn:
2Na[Ag(CN)2]+ZnNa2[Zn(CN)4]+2Ag
